IPv6 Ready Logo Program is a conformance and interoperability testing program from the IPv6 Forum to increase user confidence by demonstrating that IPv6 is ready to be used. The IPv6 Ready Core Logo (Phase 2 Gold) verifies compliance to several RFCs from IETF. The tests for core protocols require products to conform to both conformance and interoperability tests from the IPv6 Forum. Extended test categories for IPsec, IKEv2, DHCP, SNMP, and MLDv2 are available for products that pass core specification tests. Additionally, products can be independently certified as an IPv6 Ready CE Router” for customer-edge devices. Product vendors must work with one of the IPv6 Forum approved labs to get their products certified.


CNLABS is a globally approved IPv6 Ready Logo Test Laboratory.  Specifications and Tools development for The IPv6 Ready Logo program are supported by the lab through the IPv6 Ready Logo Technical Group. Conformance to IPv6 RFCs are also a key requirement in the Essential Requirements laid out by the TEC for telecommunication equipment sold in India.

As part of the recent updates to the program, product vendors must work with an IPv6 Forum approved laboratory to test and certify their products. We offer :

  • The device can be certified either as a HOST (Ex: ONTs, OLTs, Smartphones, Printers, etc.) or a ROUTER (Ex: Routers, Firewalls, UTM Appliances, IPS/IDS, etc.)
  • Approximately 450 test cases for Conformance and 130 test cases for Interoperability
  • All test scenarios captured in IPv6 Core Protocols Test Specification (Version 5.0.1) and IPv6 Core Protocols Interoperability Test Scenario(Version 5.0.1)
  • The specifications primarily require compliance to RFC 8200, RFC 4861 , RFC 4862 , RFC 4443, and RFC 8201 in addition to other supporting RFCs.
  • Devices have to be classified as host or router based on which the right test scenarios are identified
  • The IPv6 Core Interoperability test requires testing against 4 different Vendors with different IPv6 Stacks. The counter implementations must be 2 Routers and 2 Hosts.


  • This certification is applicable for devices like Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs), Home Gateways, Wi-Fi APs, etc.
  • Approximately 625 test cases for Conformance and 130 test cases for Interoperability.
  • All test scenarios captured in IPv6 Ready CE Router Conformance Test Specification (Version 1.0.3) and Interoperability Test Specification (Version 1.0.3)
  • The specifications address RFC 3315, RFC 3646, RFC 3633, RFC 7084, RFC 3736 in addition to the five Core Protocol RFCs listed above.
  • Test scenarios consist of LAN and WAN interface-specific tests along with Forwarding related test cases.


  • For devices that have obtained the CORE PROTOCOLS certification, extended category certifications like DHCPv6, IPSec, SNMP, IKEv2, 6LoWPAN, MLDv2, etc. are available.

  • Devices MUST have IPv6 on and enabled by default on ALL interfaces.
  • If the device is a router, it MUST have IPv6 enabled interfaces used for management and configuration purposes in addition to the LAN and WAN interfaces.
